ROSEBANK, P.E.I. — Graduating student Amber Perry’s commitment to volleyball has not gone unnoticed.
The 17-year-old daughter of Stacey and Joey Perry of Tignish was recently chosen as Westisle Composite High School’s Greco Pizza/Capt. Sub student-athlete of the month based on her play on her school’s senior AAA girls’ volleyball team. She played setter all three years of high school.
Westisle volleyball coach Kelly Herget noted Amber had not played the setter position before arriving at Westisle. She credits her continued improvement and progression at the position to her commitment to getting better, including attending volleyball camps.
“She put a lot of effort into it,” said Herget. “She certainly gave it her all.”
Along with school volleyball, Amber figure skates with the Tignish Figure Skating Club.
Following graduation from high school, Amber is considering furthering her education in the health sciences at either Dalhousie or UNB.
