Snowfall warning in effect: heavy snow today

  • Total snowfall: 20 to 30 cm by this evening.
  • Location: Queens and Kings counties.
  • Time span: persisting into this evening then tapering off.

Remarks: The storm passing south of Nova Scotia is producing higher snowfall accumulations than previously expected. Accumulations over Nova Scotia have reached 30 cm in some areas and similar amounts can be expected over parts of eastern Prince Edward Island through this afternoon and early evening.

Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.
